“Kokotamaya” is a guesthouse where international backpackers stay. It is operated by the student organization “Tamakomatch,” primarily made up of Hitotsubashi University students.

They DIY remodeled a 50-year old apartment, and opened it in January 2019 with help from the NPO Kunitachi Nouen no Kai (Kunitachi Farm Association).

The joy of staying at Kokotamaya is that you can interact with guests from all around the world. Besides that, you can also try to get to know the locals, through events like hot-pot parties and barbecues held in the nearby community garden.
